Scrammble Puzzle ©

by Dr. Ifay Chang

Scrammble Pyramid Puzzle is a Pyramid of words with shortest word on the top layer and longest word on the bottom layer. There is only one simple rule in the pyramid puzzle that is the letters of the shorter word must be all contained in the longer word below and the letters given can be used no more than once in each word. Solve the Scrammble Pyramid Puzzle by figuring out which letters to fit in each layer. You may start from any layer. When you have worked out the answer for any layer, type it into the answer boxes provided below and click on the "check" button to see whether you are right or wrong. Naturally there are more than one possible word to fit in one layer, however, the above rule drastically reduces the number of possible right set of words for the pyramid, sometimes only one unique set.  If the 9-letter Pyramid Puzzle is too hard for you, try the 7-letter Pyramid first. Once you you are good at this puzzle, you may try another 9-letter Pyramid and move on to an 11-letter Pyramid and on and on.

Scrammble Puzzle © (TM) Examples

By Dr. Ifay Chang (Dr. Headutainer)

Life is a scramble. We need a clear head to put things in order to get ahead in this world. Life can be stressful if we don't calm ourselves with some entertainment. The key word is Headutainment - healthy educational entertainment. The Scrammble Puzzles below are created to stimulate players' brains, make players learn words and provide players great fun. A player can play the puzzles alone or with colleagues or with family members. A Player will also have fun in using the Scrammble Game cards to experiment and produce interesting Scrammble Puzzles for others to play.

Scrammble Puzzle by Dr. Headutainer

There are many ways to construct and play  the Scrammble Puzzle.  Each puzzle will have some built-in clues, the more clues the easier to solve the puzzle. You can decide how much clues to be given in a puzzle. The rule of the Scrammble Puzzle is very simple: You are supposed to find the 'root' words of the Puzzle  word. The 'root' words are by definition shorter words than the Puzzle Word and they may be built from yet shorter root words and so on. So the Scrammble Puzzle may have a hierarchical structure containing root words and some clues leading to the solution of deciphering the final Puzzle Word. You may begin to fill in the short root words in the puzzle space below. The root words must contain all the letters of the shorter 'root' word above it. The following puzzle is constructed from a letter sequence of 13 letters: INTETNREEMNAT. This sequence can form a 13-letter word, ENTERTAINMENT which may be easily decomposed as three 'root' words, TIN, ENTER, and MEANT. Hence, a hierarchical structure of three 'root' words can be constructed as shown below: (2,3), (3,4,5) and (2,3,4,5) spaces. There are two ways to make this structure a Scrammble Word Puzzle. In Method (1),  the Puzzle Word is revealed and the player is challenged to find the three 'root' words by filling all the 'root' words in the Structure. The answer is (IN, TIN), (NET, RENT, ENTER), and (ME, MEN, MEAN, MEANT) as shown. In Method (2), the Puzzle Word is not revealed. Only a few hints are given, for example, (IN), (RENT), and (MEN) are filled in corresponding spaces. The player is challenged to solve the Puzzle Word. Please note that there are many ways to construct an interesting word puzzle which will make people think and work with words. More examples are given below to stimulate players own creativity in making and solving Scrammble Puzzles.

More Information About Scrammble© Games*

Braino Scrammble© is a game set for education, for entertainment and for health and it is indeed a game for all ages. Scrammble games are sometimes called Headutainment games. Medical World Search is proud to publicly endorse the games not because it is invented by Dr. Chang who is the founder of Medical World Search but because it is an exciting game that does stimulate, challenge and entertain human brains. Every staff in the Medical World Search has played the game and loved the game. MWSearch urged Dr. Chang to make the game available to the public. MWSearch sees the games' value for families where family members can play together and enjoy. MWSearch also sees their value in schools where teachers and students can make learning more fun. (Dr. Chang refers them as MAG Learning and MAG Teaching, see below) MWSearch also sees their value for senior citizens in retirement homes and hospices where the game can be used to stimulate brains and keep people healthy. Dr. Chang continues to create more Scrammble Games such as Scrammble Bingo, Scrammble War, Scrammble Solitaire, etc. He believes that children can have accelerated learning using the right games and teachers can have effective teaching with the right games. Dr. Chang has termed these teaching and learning methods as Make-A-Game Pedagogy (MAG Pedagogy).
