|The New Scrammble Game Cards
The following photos show some examples of the new Scrammble Cards. The first picture shows the backside of the cards. The design includes a brain image in color symbolizing these brain stimulating games. The other pictures are samples of several cards showing their front content. A set of words are included in the card to illustrate an example of Scrammble Bingo (Five words in a row containing a common vowel). The value points are indicated on the cards and some with bonus operators (2L, 3L, 2R or 3R) which signifying the value points of the letter on the left or right side of the vowel is multiplied by 2 or 3 as the bonus. The wild cards are represented by * with bonus operators (L+R, 1W, 2W and 3W) which means adding the left and right side value points, the basic word points multiplied by 1, 2 and 3 are bonuses.
When Scrammble Poker or Scrammble Majong or Scrammble Solitaire is played, these cards are held vertically up right. When playing Scrammble Word, Scrammble Bingo or Scrammble War, these cards may be placed horizontally on the table to facilitate viewing from a distance by co-players (what word is spelled out).
Counting the Word Points:
Add up all the individual alphabet points and then apply the math operators to add additional bonus points. For example, the word, FAME [ F(5), A(1, 2R), M(5), E(1, 2L) ] has 5+1+5+1= 12 basic word points, With bonus operator from A(2R), it has 5x2=10 bonus points. (M on the right side has 5 points) With bonus operator from E(2L), it also has 5x2=10 bonus points (M on the left side of E). If for example, The word GA(Wild)E [ G(6), A(1, 3L), Wi(0, 2W) as M, E(1) ] has 6+1+0+1= 8 basic word points. With bonus from A(3L), the word points becomes 6+1+0+1+6x3=26. With the wild card, it has 26+8x2(2xW bonus)= 42 word points. The wild card is used as the alphabet M. It can stay as M throughout the game or allowed to be changed to another alphabet when the word 'GAME' is scrambled into another word by someone by adding one or more alphabets. (Decide this rule in advance to suit the playing group) (refer to www.scrammble.com for other illustrative examples) Bonus points may be given to longer words, for example, 10, 20, 30 or 40 bonus points for 7,8,9 or 10 letter words if the players so choose.
Scrammble process means one forms a new word out of letters in your hand or from an existing claimed word by adding one or more alphabets to the claimed word (owned by anyone including yourself) or even combining more than one scored words to scramble into a new word. (You must use all of the letters from the word or words you take plus more!) Adding S, ES, D, ED, N or EN to change a word from singular to plural state or from present tense to past tense is not considered as forming a new word, therefore, not allowed.
Scrammble Games are exciting brain stimulating games. The game holds all players' attention all the time. In some games, bells may be used to determine who has declared first in case shouting becomes unbearable when players get too excited.Send email to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions or interpretations of the games or order the game on line ( http://www.mi-card.com/osmart0/scrammbleorder.html ).
