| May discovered a nice restaurant having an extensive menu which
you can order in small dishes. It is quite near the SHISU and the
night market. Naturally, many of us had visited there for dinner. |
 |
Victor and I both enjoy walking either early in the morning or
in the evening. The sidewalk behind us turns into a night market. |
| Through out two weeks we had only one female
lecturer. This is a picture of all the male workshop participants
with Ms Lin. Hua, a TV and Book celebrity in Shanghai tracking
Shanghai women celebrity and wrote a book about them. |
 |
The workshop group spent an afternoon visiting the
new Campus of SHISU in Soonkiang where each building is built to
convey a foreign language and culture, including French, Russian,
Arabic, Japan..... |
| Ifay at a local park between Soonkiang and
Shanghai. It was a hot day which discouraged many to walk up the
pagoda by a narrow stairwell. It is typical in China many historical
sites are at least several hundred years old. |
 |
Why were the group shots all taken indoor? Air
condition inside and outside temperature close to 100 degree
Fahrenheit were the reason. However, Ifay remembered walking outside
and posed for some hot-shot photographer. So, if you had some nice
pictures of the beautiful campus, post them here. |
| Farewell is not only ceremonial but also emotional.
The President of SHISU greeted us at the welcoming dinner and the
Vice President sang us off (quite a Karaoke singer) at the farewell
party. As the involuntary 'Workshop Captain', I was obliged to give
a farewell speech following the eloquent speeches of the University
Officials. |
 |
Gang of three in shopping as remembered. The two
poor gentlemen were coerced to serve as escort. They endured the
horror of 'Shanghai style shopping' - looking looking looking and
hackling hackling hackling, in the end came home empty handed but
vowed to go again next day - That's fun the ladies said. |
| Mr. Wang Zeng is the COO of our workshop. He
coordinated everything and met the demands of 25 workshop
participants every day. Yet, he always had a smiling face even under
the Sun over one hundred degrees.
Obviously, we need an expert to identify these dishes! I can't
name them even had them more than twice. |
 |
The six handsome gentlemen posted this picture with
COO Wang Zeng at the farewell party. The food was fabulous. I recall
a lot of pictures were taken about food and its presentation. Hi,
ladies show your pictures here! The food pictures came within two
hours after this was posted! Thank you Dung! |
